I’m planning on doing the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu (carrying all my gear) over Memorial Day next year and I need to get to training! I’m doing a lot of hikes, but not being serious enough about adding weight and elevation.
I’m in decent shape – I can do 6 hour hikes with and extra 5-10 pounds of weight, with steep elevation gains at a slow to moderate pace, and with an occasional rest here and there. I really need to get to the point where I can do all day hikes with 35 pounds at elevations of 10-14K’!
I do almost all of my hiking on weekends, but could do some mid-week on occasion. Although, as it gets darker earlier, that will be tough anyway.
I’m 34, single, female, 5’5”, athletic, strong and like I said, in decent shape. I don’t care if you’re male or female, single or attached. All I’m looking for is someone who will help get me out there on a more regular basis, is intelligent, fun to be around and talk to, and in as good or better shape then me. Ideally, I'd also like someone with Muir and above experience.
If you’re interested in joining me for the trip to Peru, that would be great too! I’ve got a group of 3 right now and am trying to get 2 or 3 more before booking the guide. Perhaps we can meet over a brew or some food before heading out into the woods together though. :)
Hope to hear from you!
